What is this place?

What’s this blog about?

This blog is created for the purposes of being exposed to the open air. Rather than having a website for each thing that I am interested in, I have consolidated everything to this “blog”. That means I regularly post and will archive here poems, short stories, essays, opinions & rants, photography, art projects, thoughts, and any other general creations that are worth sharing and enjoying. All types of art are interconnected and related; interpretations of that art and critical, creative thinking that results expands a piece of art from being simply a “creation” to something that is marvellous, beautiful, and inspiring.

Alright, so what about the whacky name? What does it have to do with anything?

The name used to be “A Whole Kettle of Chowder”. I have since renamed this blog to “Wayfarer”. My reasoning here is in my love of, more or less, wandering and wayfaring. Some of my most peaceful and enjoyable memories involve hiking, biking, talking walks, and exploring new places. I also have an insatiable desire to travel both the physical world, and the world of knowledge, thought, and theory. Finally, I revere Odin, “The Wanderer”, and the All-Father of the Nordic Gods & Goddesses.

So what’s really going to go on here then?

I will be posting my thoughts and comments in a structured and informative way on some sort of regular basis that will be interesting as well as entertaining. As I continue writing, I will have my poems here so that they can be enjoyed or ruined by others. I will also post results of all my other creative experiments in music and sound, paint, photos, and a variety of other media, as well as deeply thought-out musings and practical but artistic things I create through working wood and making useful objects.

Enjoy! Feel free to ask questions and post comments. Any questions I’ll try my best to answer and consider a research challenge in order to find an answer.
